What to Bring for a Hostess Gift

We all have those key gatherers of people in our villages. Sometimes it may even be you! The ones who open their doors and hearts to the people they serve. These gatherers deserve to be served too. Here are a few ideas of what to bring as a hostess gift to your next gathering.

“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act,” Proverbs 3:27 (NIV).

You can always consider bringing something consumable like wine, desserts, or even something the hostess can enjoy the next morning. Think of a new coffee blend or bag of bagels to bring as a token of thanks. A little something can go a long way.

But we all know everyone has different preferences, and it may be hard to know what to bring. So we've rounded up a few (non-consumable) ideas to consider from one of our favorite Faithful Gatherer shops, House of Joppa. See here for their full site of beautiful products: www.houseofjoppa.com/FAITHFULLYGATHERED

Something for the table

Consider adding something to her table! If you know your hostess and her space, you'll know what she could use or want. This offers a great personal touch!

These Tapered Candle Stick Holders offer a modern elegance to your hostess's table. We love their versatility for an everyday look or the potential to spruce up the tablescape.

You cannot go wrong with these Petite Kitchen Bowls, and bonus guest points if you can serve something in them and gift them all at once. This set of 3 bowls is great for dips or charcuterie board additions (i.e. olives, pickles, nuts, etc.).

This stunning Madonna Table Runner is the perfect addition to your hostess's beautiful spread. Simple, gorgeous, and ever so thoughtful.

“The greatest among you will be your servant. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted,” Matthew 23:11–12 (NIV).

Something for the home

If this is your first time visiting a hostess's home, make your gift a housewarming present! Set the scene and the scent with this Pray & Wait Candle. The blend of vanilla, fresh oak, and juniper is a spectacular concoction.

If you know your hostess is a true gatherer of people, we love this "Welcome to Our Domestic Church" Sign as a personal touch.

We at Faithfully Gathered love an all-encompassing guide to Christ-centered hosting! This book is complete with ideas, instructions, and images of activities, crafts, and recipes for every season in the Church. Living the Seasons by Erica Tighe Campbell is the perfect guide for the hostess living out their faith at home.

“Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do...” Ephesians 6:7–8 (NIV).

Something for the hostess

Don't forget to pamper the hostess! If they are the ones typically serving, they may not always have time to serve themselves. Consider one of these fantastic gifts to your head village-maker:

Chances are she's running around preparing and planning. Make sure she hydrates and rests with this Restless Tumbler. Practical and faith-inspired! and you can't forget to add this adorable Emotional Support Water Bottle Sticker.

Something to adorn those good and faithful wrists! Consider gifting this stunning Tapestry Cuff Bracelet to your village-making hostess. Let this serve as a reminder that her good deeds don't go unnoticed by you or by God.

Last up is a great idea for the messy chefs in your life! And this Orange Grove Apron is just so cute, you know she'll be sure to appreciate the kind gesture.

“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased,” Hebrews 13:16 (NIV).

Whether you pick out something for their home or something for them, your hostess will be ecstatic at your generous spirit and appreciation of their hospitality. Filling their cup so they may continue to serve God's people is vital in caring for your village. Whatever you serve them, be sure to think of the person and the small but mighty sacrifice they make to show hospitality. Happy serving and happy gifting!
